Concentrations in Business Administration
General Business
The General Business concentration offers two tracks:
The Human Resources track is for students interested in the responsibility of recruiting, training, developing employees, budgeting, benefits, payroll administration duties across an organization helping to ensure a company has the workers and resources needed to accomplish goals.
The Marketing/Management track is for students interested in learning leadership skills that will allow them to make decisions that impact the success of a business. Upon completion, students will be able to identify customers’ needs and then guide organizations to develop, distribute, price, and promote products and services.
Students without career and technical education credits can choose Delta State’s B.B.A. in General Business, the B.B.A. in Management, or the B.B.A. in Marketing.
Hospitality Services Management
The Hospitality Services Management concentration offers three tracks:
The Culinary Arts track is for students interested in combining their culinary art skills with managerial and leadership skills, suited for career opportunities as executive chefs, restaurant managers, and culinary entrepreneurs.
The Hospitality and Tourism track is for students interested in a solid foundation in hospitality management and specialized knowledge in tourism to become managers and leaders as hotel managers, tourism planners, destination managers, travel consultants, and event organizers.
The Hotel and Restaurant track is for students interested in a strong foundation in business management with a focus on the unique challenges and opportunities within the hotel and restaurant sectors as hotel managers, restaurant owners, event planners, and hospitality consultants.
Computer Information Systems
The Computer Information Systems concentration prepares students to acquire and demonstrate knowledge of computer systems, databases, programming, networking, and cybersecurity using hands-on skills. Upon completion, students’ skillsets will be valuable to tech-driven business and IT industries by providing operational and strategic IT solutions. The program offers 3 tracks: Computer Networking, Computer Programming, and Cybersecurity.
Students without career and technical education credits can choose Delta State’s B.B.A. in Computer Information Systems.

Business Scholarships
The College of Business and Aviation offers a variety of scholarships to students, many of which are based on merit, academic concentration, leadership, and other qualifying factors. There are over 20 scholarships for business administration majors. Students may also be eligible for non-program specific scholarship opportunities.
Program Goals
The B.A.S. in Business Administration program is designed for students to learn how to analyze business situations using qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, to evaluate and make recommendations based on the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis, and effectively communicate in written and oral formats. Reaching these goals ensures that students take their career and technical education further by achieving a higher education that opens doors for higher earning potential by joining hands-on application of trades with proven business concepts.
Admission Requirements
Applicants of this program must meet Delta State University’s undergraduate admission requirements.
Students admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration program are required to have an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, an approved technical associate degree, or a minimum of 45 hours of career and technical credits from a SACSCOC accredited community college.
